More About Dr. Adib

Born and raised in Syria, I embarked on a journey that has shaped my vision for revolutionizing healthcare. My educational path began at the University of Kalamoon in Syria, where I had the unique experience of practicing in a socialist healthcare system. This early exposure instilled in me a deep appreciation for accessible and patient-centered care.  My pursuit of excellence led me to a year as a research fellow at Boston University, where I worked within the orthopedic department.

However, it was during a subsequent year of preliminary surgery at Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center that I had a transformative revelation. I witnessed firsthand the incredible advances in Gastroenterology (GI) and endoscopy, where minimally invasive procedures were replacing major surgeries. Something as simple as antacids was preventing countless gastrectomies. It was here that my passion for gastroenterology was ignited.

I continued my medical journey by starting my medical residency at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. I didn’t stop at just the basics; I went on to complete a year as Chief Medical Resident and then specialized in gastroenterology.

Through my dedication, I graduated with over 1500 colonoscopies under my belt, each one deepening my commitment to the field.  My journey led me to work at the Austin Regional Clinic, where the need for a different approach to gastro care became increasingly evident. I listened to my patients, and it was clear that the current system was not serving them. They didn’t want a one-size-fits-all approach that simply involved medication. They wanted to identify and address the root causes of their issues, whether related to diet, stress, allergies, or other factors. They needed a tailored treatment plan, not a generic prescription.  This realization drove me to create a practice that seeks to make the world a better place by offering innovative and patient-focused gastroenterology care.
